Multiple aliases in Exchange mailbox
I have a user that needs to receive email under 2 different names. One is James and the other is Parts. I set up the account under parts@company.com and added an smtp entry under james@company.com.There are also 2 other entries; parts@company.local and james@company.local.Both email aliases work fine sending/receiving external emails. But when someone internally (on the same network and exchange server) attemptes to send email to James it bounces. When they send to jsut Parts it works fine.Any ideas?Thanx.

So, you created an account Primary address: parts@company.com Other addresses: james@company.com; james@company.local; parts@company.local Please describe the exchange version and topology. And yes, please provide the NDR as Mike suggested Please also try to telnet exchange and send the mail directly to James, see if the issue still persists Telnet to Port 25 to Test SMTP Communication
