Multiple Exchange CCRs in same forest and domain.
Hi All, I'm after a bit of advice. A couple of years ago, I was convinced to setup an Exchange 2007 CCR with a single server only while I migrated the mailboxes off our Exchange 2003 server. The plan was to reuse the hardware from the Exchange 2003 server (although I did point out the risks and minor differences in hardware). It has taken us a while as we also had to move all of our AD objects to a sub-domain (long story, in short it was because of DNS issues). Well we've finally finished and today I have run the failover clustering validation against the proposed 'second node' and there are issues. In particular, the disks on our two servers share the same unique disk id. Also, the hardware is a little different, CPU, RAM and disk. Both servers are BL460c. There may be an opportunity to build a second CCR cluster in parallel with the existing one using idential hardware. Is this possible, having two CCR's in the same domain/forest?

Yes it is. You can have as many as you want.Casper Pieterse, Principle Consultant - UC, Dimension Data South Africa, Microsoft Certified Master: Exchange 2007

Additional info: “The intended nodes are comparable with respect to CPU, memory, input/output (I/O) capability, networking, vendor, and available disk storage. The servers do not need to be identical, but they should be of equal processing power, I/O performance, and capacity” --------Refer to <Planning Checklist for Cluster Continuous Replication>Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
