Dear All,I have Exchange 2007 single server. The disk space is occuping per day 1-1.5 GB and thinking that it is not regual usage. Could you please suggest us that where is the problem so that the disk space is increasing dramaticaly. We do not enable the unified messaging solution on that exchange but I have seen the Unified Messaging folder on the Exchange installed directory whic is around 70GB of sapce. Do you think that it is required for running the Ms. Exchange.Appreciate your promtp reply on the same.RgdsArun

Hi, IF u havent installed UM role on this server then this Folder shud not exist there and is unnecessary. Run this command for this server in EMS to confirm this role Get-ExchangeServer yourExchangeName |FL ServerRole If this server doesnt have UM role then this folder shud not be there. Hi,Yes, backup is taken properly and successfully completed on each day. My doubt is also that Messaging Folder which is around 70GB+ space as we do not use and enable the unified messaging role.If I deleted this role, then does it make any affect on the Exchagne server.rgdsArun

You can unistall the role, I would double check on technet on the impact but I cant see an issue with it.

Hi, IF u dont need UM role on this server then remove it using "Add\Remove Programs", and it wont effect functionality of any other role running on this server. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Thnanks for the prompt reply.I have very limited disk space on my exchange server. I have just only 10GB space so I should resovle it by today or tomorrow at any cost. If it is not resovled, then is there any way to add the additional hard disk on that Exchange server? Or, If I have fresh server then is it possible to migrate all the setting of existing exchagne server? Thanks and regardsArun

Dear All,I have seen the Exchange directory, where the Log file size is 35+GB. I do not think that it should be there that much of amount of log size. Is there any way to remove the log file from there?rgdsArun

Hi mate, are you SAYING a single log file or all the logs file are 35+ GB, also can you confirm the name of the data folder path you are looking at.Really would recommend placing additional drives in the machine and running the databases and log files directories away from the root drive.

Also I think that previously UM role was installed on this server and that folder exists bcoz of that. U can remove that folder. Are you backing up your server with an Exchange aware BU app or agent? Those files should be purged when backed up properly.
