Moving my exchange server (SBS) to another domain
Hi all. In setting this up it wouldn't let me join this server to my existing domain. I'm new to the SBS but not 2000 or 2003 server; i'm guessing it's a caveat of SBS? Anyway I want to move this domain controller off of it's internal 'domain' as it's the only one on it to my REAL internal domain so I can use AD for exchange. How do I do this. Do I have to use DCPROMO or is there something else I need to do?

Hi Mark, SBS is really a bit of a different beast. I am not even sure you can add an SBS server to another domain. Iam assuming that you are trying to migrate your Exchange data. Take a look at this article: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Migrating-Small-Business-Server-2003-Exchange-Standard-Part1.html Jim

SBS has to be the first domain controller in a domain, and therefore cannot join an additional domain.
