When you move the first mailbox to a new storage group and it takes an hour. Is part of that time setting up all the componets for the new storage group or will the second mailbox the same size take as long as the first mailbox move?thanks

Hi, It is hard to say whether it needs to use same time when moving mailbox with same size. I would like to explain that it is depend on many situations. For example, the DC performance, network performance, the disk performance and so on. I suggest you can schedule a job to move mailbox at night if it takes a long time to move the mailboxes. The Exchange Management Console must remain open when you schedule a task to move a mailbox in Exchange 2007 or in Exchange 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931748/en-us In addition, to troubleshoot move mailbox issue, you can run the following command and check related event log. Set-EventLoglevel -identity "MSExchangeIS\9002 System\Move Mailbox" -level expert You can run move-mailbox command with suffix -verbose at the end of the command. This would give detailed information on which DC it is contacting and other operations that are happening in the background. Mike
