Moving from one Exchange 2013 server to another Exchange 2013 Server

Ok,

I have an Exchange 2013 server that I have been tasked with replacing and moving everyone off of to another Exchange 2013 Server.

It is Standard, Version 15..0 (build 775.38) with Mailbox and Client Access roles installed.

How much will the talk to each other once they are on the same domain, will the two servers replicate all setting between the two? Have lots of reading to do. I have upgraded from 2003 to 2007, setup and administered Exchange servers without issue so I do have some knowledge just never went this route before.

I am just wondering if there is any documentation to help with something like this. With the server having public folders and integrated with Unified Messaging I would like to complete this without issue and be prepared as much as possible.

Thank you,

Tom

Hi

You could do migrations straight away, your config is kept so the new 2013 will have all the config. you will need to point the OAB etc, to the new server. Depending on how many users you have you could do the migration pretty quick.

Unified messaging is simple, enable TLS on the new server for both UM roles and then you good to go.
