Moving from Exch 2007 SP1 consolidated to SCC setup
About 60 days ago we started an Exchange 2007 UM and OCS 2007 R2 pilot. Now that the business has had a taste they can't let it go! Good thing, right? This pilot environment was built with one Exchange 2007 SP1 Consolidated CAS, HT and MBX server and one Exchange 2007 SP1 UM server. Now that we want to go live, I'm tasked with making this environment as Highly Available and Scalableas possible. I'll start with a simple and general questions first; Because the CAS and HT roles can't be included in a SCC when combined with the MBX role, Can I buy 2 additional servers, a piece of shared storage and bring up aSCC while still utilizing the original Exchange consolidated roles server for the CAS and HT roles?~casey

yes, just setup SCC and move the mailboxes to a database on SCC. Fantastic, thanks J-H. I was hoping it wouldn't get any more complicated than that.
