Moving from DSL to Cable with new IP addresses
I am the new IT person on an undocumented system. We have 7 servers, domain controller, Citrix server, SQL server, print server, exchange server running exchange 2003, a hyper-v machine running 3 virtual servers and a VOIP server. We use a Sonic Wall firewall, have 1 full ISDN with 24 PRIs, a T1 line and DSL. I am switching from DSL to cable. I have ordered 5 static IPs from comcast and the cable modem is in. I need to get my mail server somehow threaded onto this new line. I don't even know where to begin. Mary Lou Oh and our Certificate has expired, do I need to renew that?

I think it's a network issue rather than Exchange. I would suggest you write the post in network forum to see if someone can help. From Exchange pespective, you only need to make sure the new IP can be mapped to the right server and port of Exchange server. If your certificate is expired, get a new one. It will cause some issues. Btw, it's not a good idea to ask multiple questions in one thread. One thread one question would be great. Thanks.

1. agree with what elvis saysm make sure your new ip is configured correctly in the new firewall and your DNS records are updated such as MX, SPF etc if applicable. 2. One question = one post is nice.Sukh

Yes sorry, As close as I can tell all I need to do is sign onto my network solutions account and update the MX records in the A record and apply the IP of the new static IP, gateway, primary and secondary DNS in the sonic wall firewall and we should be good to go. I haven't done it yet since it will take a few hours to update and I have workers active from 8 am til midnight and have to run backups the other times. I will try it Friday night so I have the weekend to make certain its right. Mary Lou
