Moving existing Exchange 2007 server to new hardware in different location
Hi, I am tasked with moving an Exchange 2007 server to a new machine in a different location and I am looking into different ways of doing this. server contains about 70 mailboxes. I don't consider having to use a new IP or computername a problem. Does anyone have any good tips on how to do this? I have been googling for a while trying to find a solution, but I just end up with more questions.

Replicate the public folders. Move thegeneration of the OAB to the new server.Dealing with the CAS will require either a new URL (assuming the newmachine will be in a new AD site), or the use of CAS proxying insteadof redirection. Once the old server's ready for retirement, add thenew server to your DNS and give it an external URL in the CASconfiuration. Then remove the old CAS externalURL property and DNS.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
