Moving calendar items from one calendar to the other outlook 2010

Hi

We have different public calendars for different meeting rooms and with outlook 2007 if we wanted to move a calendar item from one to the other, not only would it move the actual calendar entry, it would also inform all of the participants with a meeting update, informing that the meeting has changed locations.

Now that we have upgraded to 2010, when the user performs exactly the same action again, and drags from one calendar to the other, a copy is made instead and no invite update is changed.

I have researched this problem and can not find any other references to this problem. We are using exchange 2003.

Is there another way of moving calendar items from one public calendar to another.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

I understand that you would like to move calendar items from one public calendar to another.

For details, you can refer to the following KB article:

How to copy Outlook Calendar items from one folder to another

Best Regards,

Nick

I'm getting the same issue with a customer who has just upgraded to Win7 and 2010 did you find a solution for this?

This doesn't work.  Why can't you give valid answers?  Why can't you try something yourself instead of pointing to a static, out of date, and incorrect article?

This solution worked! Thank you. Although, in our case, a user would enter a calendar event on his iPhone, but it wasn't appearing in his Outlook client on his laptop. The user's iPhone was not set to have our work calendar as his 'default' calendar (email default and CALENDAR default are 2 separate settings...). Once this was done, the above solution, although successful, was unnecessary after that.

Thank you though.

You can simply just drag the appointment from any calender view to the calendar of your choice on the left side folders pane.  Almost to simple.
