Moving Mailboxes from an Exchange Server that won't start
My Exchange Server Windows insallation is toast and no matter what I do I cannot get it to start up in normal mode. I can however start it in safe mode and get all of my Exchange folders/data. I am currently building another server but my question is how easy is it going to be for me to capture the exchange data from the old server and transfer into the new server?Scott M Snyder

This is an article by Henrik that I referenced when I had to go through a very similar situation, I hope you find it useful. http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Recovering-Failed-Exchange-2003-Member-Server-Using-Disaster-Recovery-Switch.html

Hi,I think we have to install a new exchange server in disaster recovery mode. After that we need to restore database from backup.Note: Please verify if you have database from online backup.Restoring Exchange Server 2003 to alternate Hardwarehttp://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Restoring-Exchange-Server2003-Alternate-Hardware.html Exchange 2003 Disaster Recovery Operations Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125070(EXCHG.65).aspxRegards,Xiu
