I am upgrading our Exchange 2007 Hardware and I plan on upgrading to SP1 at the same time. Currently I have 500 users on one server that does not have SP1 installed. Can I move those users to a new Mailbox Server that has SP1 installed? Or should I just install SP1 on the current server that all of the Mailboxes reside on?\ Thanks Stein

Doesnt matter eitherway but recommendation goes to install SP1, make both levels equal and start the movement.

Hi Stein, Cannot say that, it doesnt depend on number of users but on resource availability on servers and roles installed on it. You need to prepareschema & AD for SP1 on any of the server which is available in the AD site where Schema Master FSMO is, as like installation of Exchange 2007. Are both of the servers in same Exchange Organization? If so then Exchange 2007 Database is portable, you can think of Database Portability feature. Exchange 2007 RTM to SP1 DB movement is supported. Hi, Personally,I think itwill depend on serveral things. It's hard to evaluate the time it will take to install SP1 on Exchange 2007. Besides,I'd like toshare some information about SP1.
