Move Mailbox across Forest
We are on process from merging companies. Currently, both companies running on Exchange 2007.Company A (source) running on Exch2007 SP1 while Company B (Target) running on Exch 2007 SP2. We created 2 ways External Trust. We able to move mailbox across forest using http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997145(EXCHG.80).aspx. After mailbox moved, it is appear as link mailbox on Company B and disable AD account created in. In company B, we able to log on to webmail using this newly link mailbox. However, when we check the account tab, we found that: User Logon Name = empty User Logon Name (pre-windows2000) = MIGWIZ_2916710651605 It is normal that after moved mailbox, the original mailbox still exist at Company A (source)

By default, the Move-Mailbox command does not delete the source mailbox or the source user account. If you are moving a user's mailbox to a new forest, and you have already moved the user account to the new forest using the ADMT, and you want to delete both the source mailbox and the source user account after the mailbox is moved, you can use the DeleteSourceNTAccount option of the SourceMailboxCleanupOptions parameter. For example What i confuse is why new AD account for moved mailbox (disable) for User Logon Name = empty and User Logon Name (pre-Windows2000):domainame\MIGWIZ_2916710651605 It is not like when creating linked mailbox, the AD account (disable) will show correct information which if Alias = global01, so User Logon Name must also as global01 and pre-Windows Logon User Name: Domainname\global01
