Move Exchange Server 2003 to another location within WAN
The company I work for has a new facility for disaster recovery, part of the plan is to relocate the Exchange server to this location. This means taking the server and physically moving it from one location to the new one. The new location is a new subnet and we will, of course, need to change the IP. My question is, once I've changed the IP and possibly some DNS entries will I be back to business as usual or will this result in issues with Exchange?
Our server is Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 installed on it, both are service pack 1.

It'll be pretty straight forward....I would suggest having a GC/DC on that same new subnet. The only challenges would be if you wanted to do a 0 downtime move.

There should not be an issue regarding Exchange (modify MX or firewall/router though), but think about the clients who are on a different subnet.

Are you saying that (a) the DR Plan itself is to physically move a server to a new location, or (b) you are moving your current DR standby-server to a new location? I'm hoping you mean
the latter.

Reading the initial post, it is A.
Strange move for a Disaster option, but I have seen worse

I agree that it's not the best plan but it's the only one that could be agreed upon.
Thank you everyone for your helpful responses.
