Move Exchange 2007 from one server to another
Hello, I currently have one Exchange 2007 Standard running on a Windows Server Enterprise 2003 R2 and using GFI for antispam. I would like to migrate the Exchange to a new server also based on a Windows Server Enterprise 2003 R2, though this time I will be using WatchGuard hardware for antispam and would like also to have my email database locate on a LUN. Once the move it done, I will remove the first Exchange by doing the follwing: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310767(EXCHG.80).aspx What should be the steps for me to do that? I understand windows well but I'm not a Exchange expert. I'm planning to do this next week. Thank you, Yael

Hi Install the new server with windows and exchange, place it into the existing mail organization Then move mailboxes, public folder content, certificates Move OAB etc. Change the fw rules, incoming and outgoing mail routing You can use this link for removing the "last" 2003 server, it written for the exchange 2007 but the removing part is almost the sameJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Thank you, but how do you do the move? Is there a feature in Exchange to move all of the data from one Exchange to the other?

Thanks! That page has good info. I will setup my exchange next week and go from there. If I have any more questions, I'll post them in here.
