Move Database Path - Exchange 2007 single server.
Exchange 2007 ~ 1 server. Drive ran out of space - customer didn't know to delete old log files to make space so they "moved" using the wizard, to another server, and tried to mount. Didn't. Then called us. (only the DB moved, the log files didn't) I stopped the services, deleted a bunch of the oldest log files to make space then manually copied the DB back to local-server. Then I went into Exchange Management Console to change the DB path and it's just not so easy as typing in the locatiion. So I've tried moving it ~ error the edb cannot be moved from..... No other error message. Don't know what to do now. How do I get the path to the correct location? How can I mount the DB ?

If the database file is where you want it physically but Exchange thinks it's in another location, use the Move-DatabasePath cmdlet with the -ConfigurationOnly:$True switch.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

On phone w/support... I recognize that as a powershell command, but i haven't much experience with ps. Thank you for replying so quickly, when panicing a lifeline is much appreciated. - I had copied the edb back to it's original location on the local-drive. Then Check for clean shutdown eseutil /mh database path and name.edb It was a clean shutdown so good. In the Exchange Console Manager, the DB-Store was still showing at the wrong location so we used ADSIEDIT to enter the correct location. ASIEDIT, R-Click and Changed to Context. Configuration, Configuration, Services, Microsoft Exchange, "Your_Domain_Name", Administrative Groups, Exchange Administrative Groups, Servers, "Your_Server", Select the appropriate Information Store, Properties, find the incorrect path and enter the new one. This was done with all the exchange services started EXcept for Information Store, that was stopped whilst the above was performed. Kinda like Regedit but for AD. Mounted datastores - all good - big party.
