Missing email under outlook 2013

I recently upgraded my outlook 2003 to outlook/office 2013.

I am using POP3 to download my email from my ISP.  When I use the godaddy web client I see all my mail.  When I use outlook, I only get a fraction of my mail that shows in godaddy.  I have sent test emails from my gmail account and they do not arrive on outlook. I have disabled the Norton spam add in and have also checked my spam folder.

ANY IDEAS????

Murray,

First off did you check the Junk folder?

Second is the conversation view on, this changes the way the emails are displayed and people think they are missing emails.

Heres how you can enable/disable Conversation View in three really quick steps.

1. Click the View tab at the top of  your Outlook home screen.

1 outlook conversation view

2. Check the box that says Conversations. To turn it off instead, uncheck the box.

2 outlook conversation view

3. Select the folder you want to apply Conversations view to.

3 outlook conversation view

And youre done! If youve just turned the feature on, youll notice little arrows next to emailsthat have been threaded. Clicking on the arrow reveals all the messages that have been grouped together under that thread.

Hi Murray,

Can you send out an email message from Outlook successfully?

Do you receive the test email from your gmail account in web client? If you can't receive the test email from web client, you'll need to contact your email provider to get further assistance.

If the email can be received successfully in web client, the email account may not be configured correctly in Outlook. Would you please clarify the steps you used to configure your email in Outlook? Please make sure you have correctly set the mail server and port numbers. You can have a look at the following KB article to verify it:

Please let me know the result.

Steve,

When I changed the default mailbox it started to work correctly.

Thanks

Thank you for the update, Murray. Which account is your original default account? Did you change your default mailbox to the POP3 account which fixed the issue?

The default account was a cloud hosted exchange account.  When I switched back to a default of a POP3 it worked fine.

Really a strange issue. If you don't want to change the default account to work around the issue, I'd recommend you create a new mail profile in Control Panel and reconfigure your accounts in the new profile to see the result. For your convenience:
