Hi,

We have an application which is monitors the jobs sent to printer and the application which has initiated the print request.

i.e., name of the printer, which application triggered the request like (word, excel, notepad etc).

Our application has actually registered for windows messages and we are monitoring the events using windows messages.

So far our application has worked properly without any issues.

But when I try to test the same on Windows 8.1 with excel 2013. Our application is not getting all the messages we are supposed to get

We are only getting few messages.

We have identified the issue with the combination of Windows 8.1 OS and the excel 2013 only

On the same Operating system other excel version like excel 2010 is working fine.

And excel 2013 is also working fine on other operating systems.

Environment : Windows 8.1

Application: Excel 2013.

Action performed: Print document

Expected Result: We should be able to receive windows messages 

When we diagnosed the issue using the spy++ tool provided by Microsoft, spy++ is also unable to capture all the messages.

We are only getting one event. 

Is it a known issue, is there any fix for this issue, Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated...

Based on your description, you said >>we have an application<<, did you mean this is a third-party program? This issue appeared with Windows 8.1 and Excel 2013, have you ever tested it with Windows 8.1 and Word 2013 or other office programs?Did you get the same result?

In this forum we discuss questions and feedbacks about Exce. As you said this issue also appeared when using SPY++ tool, I can't confirm what caused the problem.

I suggest you provide the process of running this application. You also need to contact the developers of this application to confirm whether there is a compatibility issue.
