Do you have any attachment blocking rules or antivirus software getting in the way?

when you recieve the email on your Outlook XP, can you see the attachement icon along with the email ? from your outlook express check attachment settings, it might configured to block certain attachment settings. also try to send same attachment to your hotmail or yahoo, by this you will know if your exchange server 2007 blocks attachments or not. if you recieve the attachment to your yahoo or hotmail, then your exchange server 2007 does not block any attachments, then you need to check outlook xp and express settings , but if didn't recieve attachment on hotmail or yahoo, then your exchange 2007 been configured to block attachments, you need to check if you have antivirus or antispam application running on your exchange server 2007 , and check if there is any transport roles been created under your exchange server 2007 where its been configured not to send any attachments outside your exchange server. please let me know the status of your problem after you read this post. Erik, Thank you so much for your post! This was exactly our issue. I was searching all over for this answer, and as far as I can tell, you are the only one who had posted this solution. Sam

Erik ... you are a legend I've been spending the last 2 hours trying to figure this out and was just about to tell the end user to go over to Outlook instead of Outlook Express when I stumbled into your post and it worked straight up!! You should get paid for fixing Microsoft's mistake :)

Hi, Apologies for hijacking the thread - I'm having a similar problem with my Exchange 2003 - some emails sent out from us with attachments are delivered without the attachments. This is only happening randomly - most users don't have that problem and even those who do, can send most attachments no problem. This one seems to be the closest case to ours I was able to find so far but there are no such settings on Exchange 2003. Could you kindly advise where to set the formatting for not using RTF? The Outlook client is already set to use html & txt only. Thanks a lot Miro
