Miss formatted mail when migrating/routing from Lotus Domino to Exchange 2003
Hello everyone! I have a problem with mail formatting between Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange2003 I am migrating mail users from Lotus Domino 7.02 to Exchange 2003 (sp2) On the client side our users are running Inotes and we are moving to Outlook 2003. I am using the Microsoft Migration Wizard to migrate peoples mailboxes. Just a few test people so far as I got the problems. We are using the Notes mail connector to route mail between Domino and Exchange The problem is exported mail that is html or RTF formatted mail looks awful. Also, external mail that is routed through the Domino server to Exchange looks bad. There is no problem with mail sent between users on the Exchange server. All the external links are blocked removed, all pictures removed. There is a pop up message There is not enough memory or disk space to complete the operation. I got plenty of RAM and free disk on both server and client so that is not the problem You get a banner in the mail that contains all the urls it has blocked. (You cannot copy the links) Everything works perfect on the Exchange server as long as the Domino server is not involved. Mailing from Exchange/Outlook to users on Domino it works perfect. I have tested various Security settings within Outlook like allowing automatically download pictures in HTML messages. I have tested the Level1Remove registry entry allowing .url; .jpg etc You then get downloadable ~~dlink0.url that you can save but the mail is still badly formatted. I have done some testing on the servers. I have tested change Outbound Messages Option on the Domino Server Configuration Document to match Internet Message Format in Exchange server (ISO-8849-1) Tested X400 properties Convert incoming messages to Exchange contents Tested Connector for Lotus Notes setting Notes letterheadset as html Nothing seems to work. Google has not helped me out so far Any suggestion what I need to change to get the mail formatting to match between Domino and Exchange? Thanks in advanced //Tim

There seems to be a lot of problems there. I think the problem lies on the Domino server. I think theres an domino agent you can run that will format the existing mail on the Domino server. Try too google for it and see what you can find..

Thanks for your answer Tzerox! Running an agent that change all mail to another format on the Domino server will not help. The problem is, as I understand, that both Migration Wizard and Lotus Notes Connector converts all mail to Rich Text. That means that html formatted mail will be in a very ugly shape after conversation. The same thing should happen if you run some kind of agent that converts mail on the Domino server. What I need is a migration/connector that migrate/export mail without converting all mail to rich text. For that reason I am now looking at 3:d party programs to see if there is any program that can solve my problem //Tim

Found Quest Notes Migrator that solves all my problems and smooths the migration. This is how I think the Microsoft migration wizard should havebeen like. http://www.quest.com/notes-migrator-for-exchange/ //Tim
