Migration of Exchange 2007 into child domain.
Hi Everyone, Straight to the problem... Current situation: Parent and child domain only. All accounts + resources + Exch 2007 in Parent domainPlan: To migrate / move everything into the child domainWhat I'm concerned the most about is the Exch 2007 migration (not only mailboxes!).What would be the best way of doing it?Many thanks.

Hi, Only way to do it is to install new 2007 servers in the child domain and then move everything to this new server. Leif

Thanks Leif, Given the fact the migration is supposed to be without any service disruption for users, what's the easiest way of incorporating this another Exchange while keep using the first one. Is there a way of slowly migrating users across without much interuption? Many thanks.

Hi, You can install the new serve in the child domain, make sure taht everything is tested and working and then move a test mailbox to the new server. If everything is working with this test mailbox you can then move the other mailboxes one at a time. Remember to create replicas of the public folders if you use these and follow this to decommision the first server: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310767.aspx Leif
