Migration from exchange 2013 to exchange 2010.

Hi,

Can someone help me about Exchange migration. Customer wants to go back from exchange 2013 to exchange 2010. They have multirole (CAS,MBX) exchange 2013 server.  Is migration from Exchange 2013 to 2010 supported by Microsoft.

Best regards,

Are the 2010 servers still up? I assume the org has 2010 installed at some point.

Why on earth do they want to do this?

Hi,

Because exchange migration was finished month ago, exchange 2010 is not longer in organization. Why would i do that, because customer wants to install application that works with exchange and company which have offered application didnt do there homework (basicly they dont now what they are selling). After migration of Exchange (2003-2010-2013) was finished they found out that application supports only exchange 2010.

Hi,

Thank you for reply, but  this migration tool only allows migration from old version to new, not from new to old. Migration from exchange2003 to exchange 2010 and then to 2013 was already done.

Hi,

I just rember warning when organization is prepared for exchange 2013. Migration is not possible.

You should not have gotten that warning if you were migrating from 2010. If all the 2010 servers are gone, I don't think its supported to reintroduce one.

Hi,

If the Exchange 2010 has been removed in your organization, we can't migrate mailbox back.

If you persist to use Exchange 2010 instead of Exchange 2013, you need to install new Exchange 2010 to coexist with your Exchange 2013, then move all mailboxes back to Exchange 2010.

Hi,

You can migrate from Exchange Server 2010 to Exchange Server 2013.

Migration

Exchange Server 2010 to 2013

Exchange Server 2013 to Office 365

Exchange Server 2007 to 2013

But Exchange Server 2013 to 2010 not possible. Only the things you can do .pst migration that possible. Why you planning to decommission exchange 2k13.

Regards,

Exchange

There is no migration tool as well as manual method to migrate from Ex2013 to 2010. The only way is configure new Ex2010 server and move user's mailbox to newly created server.
