Migrating to New Server - Have 2010 SP2
We have an Exchange 2010 VM Server that has 100 Users on it. Maybe 100GB of Mailbox Data. The Drive system that the the VM and the Data is on is not in the best shape and we want to move away from that server and onto a new server in a Hyper-V Cluster. Looks as though Exchange 2013 is not yet compatible to co-exist with 2010 an that 2010 is not yet compatible to run on Server 2012 without some finagling. http://syscomlab.blog.com/2012/09/installing-exchange-server-2010-sp2-on-windows-server-2012/ What are my option on replacing the 2010 Server in my Environment? I really dont want to have to install another 2008 R2 Server. Is my only option to install 2008 R2 and add that VM to the Cluster, then when 2010 SP3 comes out install my 2013 server and then migrate to that? )-: Thanks!

If you don't want to use PST files to migrate mailboxes, you need follow your option to do that. Because now it is not support to migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. The only migration option available until 2010 SP3 is available is to Export PSTs, uninstall 2010, install 2013, create new mailboxes, and import PSTs. Tedious and time consuming, but that's all that is available thus far. I would personally either move the 2010 VM onto the new cluster or install a new 2010 VM and move mailboxes to it, then wait for SP3 to come out. I had to do the PST method on my test network, just cause I wanted to check out 2013, and it's a pain.
