Migrating from Communigate Pro to Exchange 2013

Hi all,

My company is currently using Communigate Pro and 90% of users use web-based email, the rest use Outlook PST. We currently need to migrate all the users' mailboxes to Exchange 2013. I have already tried one tool namely Transend Migrator which does the job but the licensing is really expensive. Anyone can please propose an alternative, preferably free one, how I can do this. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Khaleel

Hi

MigrationWiz can also do the migration. does communigate not allow you to migrate the mail? You can always export all mail to PST and then import those into Exchange 2013 if you want to go the free route, just loads of work though.

Hi mate, cheers for reply. You are absolutely right...loads of work for free route and I have around 8,000 users so not the best way forward. I have seen MigrationWiz as well but I have not checked the cost implication. I will take that into consideration. Thanks again

I don't think you have noticed that you forgot to change the Blog URL when you copied Rhoderick Milnes signature.
http://aka.ms/RMILNE is a really good Blog though that I recommend everyone to visit but I suspect that you want to link to your own :)

Hi,

In terms of the cost, as what Dare mentioned above, the way of exporting all mails to PST is available.

Best regards,

B

Dear all,

thank you very much for your replies and giving me various options. I managed to get a script which can do the work without the need to download to PST first. On communigate pro, I have like a superadmin account which can transfer all the emails account to exchange 2013 without the need to provide the password of each mailbox. Only the usernames is required. BUT in Exchange the same principle does not apply. Does anyone know which account can be used & with which roles assigned to be able to enable the same action at Exchange level, thanks.

HI there,

it is a command line tool called imapsync. the mails are transferred via the imap protocol to the exchange server. Like I mentioned earlier, there is no super admin account on exchange 2013 to impersonate all other accounts so you need to have the passwords of all email accounts on Exchange to be able to do the migration.
