Migrating from 2010 to 2013 - Error

Greetings,

I am getting the error below when I try to migrate users from Exchange 2010 to 2013. I am using the 2013 EAC Migration tool to select the user to migrate.

MigrationPermanentException: The Mailbox database "Mailbox Database Name" is not the same version as the cmdlet. --> The Mailbox database "Mailbox Database Name" is not the same version as the cmdlet.

It will throw this error and then sometimes I will try again and it might complete or it might not for the same user. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Robert

Have you installed CU1 for Exchange 2013? I would first update as it might have been fixed in it.

I had the same problem with some resource and shared mailboxes. When I've started migration once again with new-moverequest cmdlet it works without any problems.

Verify that either your target or source is a 2013 server.  I have seen this error when mistakenly attempting to process a move request from a 2007 source to a 2007 target from within the 2013 command shell.

You are correct, you need to verify if the source or target is 2013. Move it from 2010 to 2010 or earlier and it works.
