Migrating exchange 2007 from single forest to resource forest
I have found several very good articles on how to configure and deploy a resource forest. Since there is a time period for the migration to take place I need to configure server to server messaging for those users that migrated as they migrate. In the resource forest I have a valid working exchange organization. I've created a new linked mailbox and moved the mailbox successfully from the original single exchange forest to the new resource exchange forest. What I haven't been able to find is how to configure the send and receive connectors to and from the exchange servers, both are 2007 (and in separate forests). The users are going to maintain email addresses during the migration. So @company.org will need to be delivered to the old server first and then relayed up to the already migrated users. Please advise.

Hi,That can be resolved using SMTP Namespace sharing. Heres the good article that can help you with:http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/planning-architecture/exchange-2007-smtp-namespace-sharing-different-relay-domain-types.htmlRegards,LRMCP

Yup, figured out the solution last week. I wish the cross forest migration documents provided by Microsoft had pointed to the solution. I found the same article you referenced on the third party site msexchange.org. Good stuff. Thanks for your attention!
