Migrated SBS2003 to SBS2011 and new exchange DC and GC keep pointed at the old server
I migrated SBS2003 to new SBS2011. Everything migrated fine, beside that I can't change the exchange default DC and Global Catelog Server. I already change the default from EMC->Server Configuration->Configuration Domain Controller->point it to the new server. it didn't work. If I uncheck GC role form the SBS2003, then exchange stop working. from EMC I already make it use new serve as domain controller and GCS but it still point it to the old server. I didn the DCdiag s:/<DCcontrollerName> everything passed. besside this but I remeber this is only for the RODC. I didn't plan to have and RODC Error NT AUTHORITY\ENTERPRISE DOMAIN CONTROLLERS doesn't have Replicating Directory Changes In Filtered Set access rights for the naming context: Please help

Hi Make sure your SBS2011 DC is not a RODC. Run the below shell command to set the sbs2011 dc as preferred dc for exchange 2010 Set-ADServerSettings -PreferredServer SBS2011.DomainController.com If any error apears, copy and past it below Also, it will be better, if you run the below command to know the current status of your DC settings Get-AdServerSettings |FL and paste the update..

Hi, After you uncheck the Global Catalog in the old server, please restart the exchange server and check if it can connect to the new GC. Exchange will not immediately fail over to a new DC like in a cluster so there will be some disruption.
