Microsoft Exchnage Writer fails during TSM backup with error 1811
I am trying to backup my passive copies of my mailbox databases using TSM DP for MS Exchange 6.3. My Exchange enviroment is Exchange 2010 SP 2 running on Windows 2008 R2 server. The error given from the script is: ANS5252E TSM attempted to execute a system command which failed. command : "C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\excvssic.exe" C:\adsm.sys\vss_staging\MCEXCHMBXDR01_EXCHANGE\PTSMWN01 \20120504083438\4c44f49d-24de-48a6-b46d-3ed349b2c690_Audit.txt rc : -1811 I opened a ticket with IBM whom pointed to these errors that are Microsoft VSS issues. Thus why i am posting here. Any help would be appreciated.Jeffrey S. Lefever

Hi Did you try above solution? How about rebooted Exchange server and re-initialized TSM software and connection. CheersZi Feng TechNet Community Support

Hello, Thanks for the advice! In following your instructions I did use a test database and found the BA Client to be corrupt so I un installed the BA client side and then rebooted and re installed using version 6.3. Then configured the client and a password reset to the TEM server and poof backups started run with VSS and sent on as archives to the TSM server. The only question I have is, does anyone know of a good exchange powershell backup script for an exchange DAG? The one provided by IBM is very clunky and hard to mdify. Jeffrey S. Lefever
