Microsoft Exchange Server Profile Analyzer (EPA) Tool
Iam planning to run EPA against our exchange 2003 clustered boxes, MS says that EPA speed is 500 kb to 1 MB, Has anyonetested this against huge DB (around 250GB) and what speed was estimated?i tried to test this in test lab and i am getting a pop up warning message once i click on start collect after selecting server, time frame etc.warning:-profile analyzer has detected that the configured user fails to collect data from at least a subset of the configured mailboxes in the followingMailbox database. please read the document prior to running this in production environment, do you wish to continue to collect the data, click YES and NOand when you click yes and once it's doneit sayscompletedwithexception.when you open HTML file under c:\documents and settings\user\application settings\epa, it shows all statics as 0.i have full exchange permission in ORG and that account is not a part of AD admin and also this account has full permissions on mailboxes.....any idea on this

Hi,First pleasefind log from c:\documents and settings\user\application settings\epa and then post here.Besides, please check if you have redirection configured on the Backend Cluster server to direct HTTP/HTTPS traffic to the Front End Server. 1. On the Back end server check if you have a redirect configured to go to the FE server.2. Open IIS ADMIN. Inside the Virtual Web site created -> properties-> Website tab-> Advanced, check for a redirection to <FE Server Name> the F.E. server.3. If you find it, remove the redirection on the B.E. and test to see if it works (if you can remove the redirection) 4. In http virtual server setting in ESM, Under ESM, Servers, Protocols, HTTP - Exchange Virtual Server. Expanding the item, I selected Exchange, opened Properties and went to the Access tab. Clicking on the "authentication" button pulled up properties there. There should have set to basic authentication and windows authentication. Documentation for EPA on technet is not so good, No clear information aboutmailbox scan speed and threads,By default the pool collects data from only a single mailbox on each server at the same time. you can change that settings by modifying the value of "mailboxthreadperserver" in config.xml file located in EPA installation directory, we can use valued up to 20 mailboxes, Microsoft recommendation is not more than 20 thread per server.<system StatistisPerMailbox="No" MailboxThreadPerServer="20"/>hope this would BE helpful those are dealing with EPA.
