first of all the retention period is not set well. keep it to default 14 and 30 days. "The Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager has completed processing mailboxes", for this notification, please try degrgamentating your DB. http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Misc/Q_21601129.htmlRaj

You're confusing the management of mailbox contents with themanagement of space occupied by items that have been removed from auser's mailbox. The mailbox manager report should be telling you that the policyhasn't been applied to any mailboxes. Check the "General" tab of theappropriate recipient policy and verify that the "Filter rules" arewhat you think they are. Click the "Modify" button and then the "FindNow" button to see if any mailboxes will actually be matched by thefilter rules. The recovery items beyond their expiry date is managed by the ISmaintenance tasks. Check your application los for events with a sourceof "ESE" and category "Online Defragmentation". You should see eventsin the 7xx range noting the start, stop, interruption, and resumptionof online defrags. If you don't then you may have your backup'sscheduled to run at the same time as the IS Maintenance.---h MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Rajnish, Thank you for the information. I read the article, and created a recipient policy. Applied the policy to two mailboxes. Process messages older than 7 days and larger than 1 KB. Run the Mailbox Manager, and get the same results. How to correctly apply to the recipient policy? Thank you.
