Microsoft Exchange Event stop on its own
Hi All, I have a situation in my Exchange Server Servicesparticular on the Microsoft Exchange Event, the Microsoft Exchange Event Properties is set to Automatic in the Startup and has a set of action to do in the Recovery Tab, however the Microsoft Exchange Event will stop after few minutesonce you initialize it to start or the even Recovery actions did not do the set of actions once the Microsoft Exchange Event stop its service. I wanted to know why does this exchange event stop on its own, what causing them and how to resolved it back to it working state. I doubt that once this event stop its service, the exchange server could not monitorhis related events, such as logs and other critical events. My current Exchange 2003 SP1is running in Windows 2000 SP4. I look forward on your reply. Thanks and Regards, LRMCP

Any additional error in event logs? Which may give hints to root cause.

Hi, Thanks for the reply... Actually theres no event error related to exchange server 2003...i doubt that the submission of error events for exchange is already stop, since the MS Exchange Event service is already stop. regards, LRMCP

Hi lymford, Thank you for your posting. The default Microsoft Exchange Event Service status is manual, you mentioned you set it as Automatic, so please set it as manual and test the issue again. If it works properly, it will start automatically when the system need. Microsoft Exchange Event Service is depend on Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service, so please check if that service runs well. Meanwhile, I would like to confirm after it stopped, if you could start it manually. If it cant be restarted, is there any error? Did you uninstall Outlook recently on the server computer? The following KB article may be useful for our issue. The Microsoft Exchange Event Service does not start http://support.microsoft.com/kb/867641 Hope this helps. Thanks, Elvis

Hi Elvis! Thanks for the reply. I did some simulation of the case and you were right. It will automatically stop when the system does not need it, and will be started if the system needs it. Regards, LRMCP
