Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.In boundConversionOptions.CheckImceaD omain is probably broken - how do I file a bug report?
The above mentioned method is probably broken wrt. not accepting accepted domains which contain a wildcard character for catching subdomains. The documentation for New-AcceptedDomain (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995975.aspx) that you "can use a wildcard character to specify all subdomains of a specified domain, as shown in the following example: *.contoso.com". However, doing so affects several vital functions of Exchange Server 2001 SP1 (w/ Update Rollup 2): You cannot reply to or forward e-mails in OWA any more (see http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/25689f37-f142-4db9-9009-5a9fdeea63e7, and like http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvrmobility/thread/321eae51-9cbd-4a5e-85c1-68d8f7b523c3); IMAP4 clients fail "to update headers", while the folder structure can be downloaded (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/02c93d30-9f09-4ad8-a8f3-cbccf962b901); and POP3 does not work any more. The IMAP4 protocol log shows the following errors: 2011-02-02T20:45:19.119Z,0000000000000002,9,xxxx,xxxx,xxxxx,265,79,32,uid,FETCH 1538:1616 (UID FLAGS RFC822.SIZE BODY.PEEK[HEADER] INTERNALDATE),"R=""p19b NO Server Unavailable. 15"";RpcC=2;LdapC=2;Excpt=""imceaDomain must be a valid domain name.-ArgumentException"";Budget=""Conn:0,HangingConn:0,AD:$null/$null/0%,CAS:$null/$null/9%,AB:$null/$null/0%,RPC:$null/ Likewise does the POP3 log: 2011-02-02T20:43:44.611Z,0000000000000005,3,xxxx,xxxx,mueller,31,8,29,retr,469,"R=""-ERR Server Unavailable. 21"";RpcL=-1;LdapL=-1;Excpt=""imceaDomain must be a valid domain name.-ArgumentException"";Budget=""Conn:0,HangingConn:0,AD:$null/$null/1%,CAS:$null/$null/11%,AB:$null/$null/0%,RPC:$null/$null/1%,FC:1000/0,Policy:DefaultThrottlingPolicy_ee234b65-dab9-45aa-b4bb-64e0263a88d4,Norm[Resources:(DC)xxx.xxx.xxx(Health:-1%,HistLoad:0),(Mdb)XXXXX(Health:-1%,HistLoad:0),]""" Removing the accepted domain with the wildcard fixes all three problems. As I do not consider this the excepted behaviour of Exchange, where can I file a bug report?
