Message not getting delivered (mixed 2003/2010 environment)
Hello, Need some help here please! I have a web app and uses one of our Exchange 2003 SMTP servers to relay messages. With just one particular user who's currently an Exchange 2010 user, messages sent from the Web app doesn't seem to make it into her mailbox. Using message tracking in Exchange 2003 ESM, it shows that the 2003 SMTP server passed the message on to the Exchange 2010 CAS/HUB server which is where that trail ends. I then tried "message tracking" in Exch2010. Put in the "From" and "To" addresses, when I searched, I got a message saying "some messages can't be tracked because the sender is using an older version of Microsoft Exchange". Then I went to Tracking Log Explorer. That search did show the message being sent to the Exchange 2010 mailbox server, but I just can't seem to find out what happened to the message or why it never reached the user's mailbox. It's not in the user's Junk folder, no mailbox rules...etc. Other Exchange 2010 users are receiving messages from this web app with no issues. Can someone tell me how I can find out what happened to this message after it hit the Exchange 2010 CAS/HUB server? Thank you!

What does the 2010 message tracking show exactly? If it shows it was delivered by the STOREDRIVER, then it made it to the user's mailbox.

Thanks Andy. EvendId=DELIVER, Source=STOREDRIVER, ServerIp=blank... etc etc. So does this mean to you that the message was for sure delivered to the user's mailbox? Because I don't see it anywhere, and there are no rules on that mailbox. If it was delivered, then obviously there's something I'm missing. Any ideas?

Did you search the entire mailbox? ServerIP will be blank, but not serverhostname. If it shows it was delivered it was. Check also the Dumpster.

Ok got it. With source being STOREDRIVER, it was delivered. I'll probably recreate the user's profile to be sure. Thanks for your help.

Hi Vic, Any update for your issue? Per your description, the email seems be delivered successfully, how about check the email through OWA? I would also repair the mailbox, or move the mailbox to other database to makes some tests. If the issue still exists, recreate the mailbox, and connect to the account. Regards!
