Message Tracking Problem
Hello, When I do a search (just specifying the server name or by specifying the sender and the server name - the same way as I do in the other Exchange 2003 servers in my organization) in the Message Tracking Center, the following error appears: "The Tracking database on myserver1.domain.com is not available or the message has left the Exchange organization. Facility: Microsoft Exchange Management ID no: c1032751 Microsoft Exchange Management" This problem is happening when I do a search on the local server (MYSERVER1), specifying the MYSERVER1 as a server in the search. When I do the search for another server, but specifying the server MYSERVER1, I can see the records without problems. This Exchange 2003 server is configured exactly like my other Exchange 2003 in my organization (Message Tracking is enabled). The Message Tracking of the other Exchange 2003 servers are working correctly. In the directory c: \ program files \ Exchsrvr \ MYSERVER1.LOG, I can see that the logs were recorded successfully (I opened the logs for NOTEPAD and I could see that the tracking information were recorded in the archives). I checked the permissions (Sharing and NTFS) in the directory c: \ program files \ Exchsrvr \ MYSERVER.LOG and Administrators group has Full Control permission. As is not working, I added the Everyone group with Full Control permission. The error persists. NetBIOS name resolution is OK. Due to the administrative model for Exchange in my company, I need local search in message tracking is working. How to solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi, Try to change the log location: 1. In the directory C:\program files\Exchsrvr\MYSERVER1.LOG\, copy all log files to another folder as a backup. 2. Open EMS, right click MYSERVER1 server and choose properties. 3. In General tab, under "Log file directory" click change, then type in the new location such as D:\MYSERVER1.log 4. Send a mail from MYSERVER1 and see if you can track this email. If yes, please copy all the old log files to the new location. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Here are the default permissions on the message tracking log folder. I used to CACLS.exe to dump NTFS folder permissions. C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\<ServerName>.log BUILTIN\Users:R BUILTIN\Users:(OI)(CI)(IO)(special access:) GENERIC_READ GENERIC_EXECUTE BUILTIN\Power Users:C BUILTIN\Power Users:(OI)(CI)(IO)C BUILTIN\Administrators:F BUILTIN\Administrators:(OI)(CI)(IO)F NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:F NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(OI)(CI)(IO)F CREATOR OWNER:(OI)(CI)(IO)F NT AUTHORITY\TERMINAL SERVER USER:C NT AUTHORITY\TERMINAL SERVER USER:(OI)(CI)(IO)C Also, check net view \\<servername> This should show as Share name Type Used as Comment ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address Disk "Access to address objects" <ServerName>.LOG Disk Exchange message tracking logs The command completed successfully. Are you receiving any event id's related to IRPStack size (Event ID 2011) or any memory related issues? Can you please collect ExBPA with Health Check and Permissions check?
