Message Size Limit Setting in Exchange 2007 Org
Hi Team In My Test Lab. I have two seperate exchange organization like (ABC.com and xyz.co.in) Emails Between the both organization is workig fine. In ABC.com The Global Settings for messgae limit for send and receive is 5 MB. and one of the two user in ABC.com having the message limeit to send and receive up to 10 MB. within in the Abc.com the two users are able to send and receive 10 MB Email without any issues. In Xyz.co.in. The Global Settings for message Limit for send and receive is 5 Mb and one of the two user in xyz.co.in having the message limit to send and receive up to 10 MB. within in the Abc.com the two users are able to send and receive 10 MB Email without any issues. Throwing the below NDR The message Exceeds the maximum Message size allowed. M.S. Exchange will not try to re - delievr this message for you Please make the messge simillar - by removing attachements, Am sending the email between the orgnaization via OWA with attachement. There is no internet connection in between the two Organization. No Gateway . i checked the receive connectors of the other domain xyz.co.in and it is having 10 MB limit. Now the when the user ( who is having send and receive the email in 10MB ) in abc.com is unable to send the email with more than 5mb to the user who is having the rights to send and receive email up 10 MB in xyz.co.in Where am doing mistake, ? or by desgin We cannot to send.

Hi Team i went through the below link http://exchangepedia.com/2007/09/exchange-server-2007-setting-message-size-limits.html And found the below Do individual message size limits bypass the Organization message size limits? Setting higher message size limits on an Exchange recipient bypasses the maximum message sizes in the Exchange Organization configuration, but only for internal messages, not for messages sent to or received from the Internet and other unauthenticated sources. Remember, for a message to be delivered successfully, the message size must be within the max message size limits applicable to both— the sender and the recipient. Since the identity of unauthenticated or anonymous senders and recipients can’t be established (because they’re unauthenticated), the organizational limit applies. But if you restricted the message size in the Organization level, then what is the uses of individual message size limits ? say for example. I limit the message size limit as 5 MB in the Organization level. One of the VIP user (CEO) wants to send and receive the 10 MB Email from outside Organization, How it will work?

One of the VIP user (CEO) wants to send and receive the 10 MB Email from outside Organization, How it will work? You set the organizational limit to whatever is the maximum message size your organization is willing to tolerate. Then you set more restrictive limits on the individual mailboxes. As long as the sender and receiver are in the same Exchange organization you can raise their individual limits, but that won't overirde the organizational limit when they sent to someone that's not in the same Exchange organization. For messages arriving from the Internet, your server advertizes the maximum message size it will accept. Beyond that limit, the message is rejected. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
