Merge Two Same Named Mailboxes on Same Exchange Server
I have accidently Removed Exchange Attributes (Exchange 2003 SP2) for a user in Exchange Tasks on AD Users and Computers. I created a new mailbox and now two mailboxes are visible in the same Mailbox Store. I need to merge the old mailbox into the new mailbox in order for the user to retain his original messages. I have tried the Mailbox Recovery Center but <no match> is found along with conflicts which cannot be resolved. I have also looked at EXMerge, but see that this is only for moving mailboxes between servers. Thank you for any help.

Follow this: http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2006/03/how-to-reconnect-mailbox-to-another.html And connect the old mailbox to another AD dummy account, then you can grab the contents from the old mailbox to a pst and import into the new one. ALternatively, reconnect the old mailbox back to the correct AD account and connect the new mailbox to a dummy AD account and export to a pst and import to the other mailbox.

Hi You can try Export-Mailbox -Identity "Alias" -TargetMailbox "Alias" -Target Folder COPY The above command will move the source mailbox to Target Mailbox in Target Folder COPY. Thanks Shiv

I agree with Andy, you could reconnect the mailbox to another AD account, then export the mails into pst and import it to the correct mailbox. Any update on the issue? Thanks, Elvis
