Meetings delayed by an hour.
Hi EverybodyI seriously hope somebody can help me out here as I am all out of options at the moment. We have a small enviroment here of around 200-300 users. We are running Exchange 2003 Enterprise edition. Over the past 3 months or soI have had constant complaints from some users that meeting requests sent outside of the network are delayed by one hour. Internal Meetings are 100% correct. So I decided to do some trouble shooting on the matter. This is what I found.1. The meetings are getting delayed to SOMErecipients but not all. I tried sending a meeting to a user that was reporting the problemfrom 3 different machines and all meetings are delayed by 1 hour (One hour behind). I then tried sending a meeting to another person and it was correct. I'm sure that if it was a server or desktop ralated issue then all meetings would have been delayed. If the Time zone was incorrect on the machine then all the meetings would be delayed according to that specific time zone.2. I then tried scheduling a meeting through OWA (on the same machine)to the user thatreported thedelay. It works perfectly (From all 3 machines that I havedonethe previous test it works fine). So now the confusion sets in. Due to the fact that its working through OWA and not Outlook points to the machine as being the problem but how can that be if some meetings going out are correct. All time zone settings on the PC are correct. All users are running Office 2007 SP2.I checked the time zone on the server, outlook, Windows XP and its all set to GMT +2 Harare Pretoria. There is no DST option for that specific time zone. I tried digging through the net looking for the problem but can't find anything.Exchange is setup for Forward all outgoing mail through a Smart Host (Mail Marshal servers hosted by a 3rd party company). (Not sure if this could be causing the problem)Has anybody come accross this before? If anybody can just point me in the right direction to get this issue resolved it would be really appreciated.Kind RegardsLuke

Hi Luke, From your description, I understand that the meeting request sent to some specific external recipients is delayed in Calendar folder. The issue only occurs when sending meeting request by using Outlook. If you use Outlook to send same meeting requests, the meeting is correct in calendar folder. If I am off base, please let me know. At this time, would you please let me know whether the issue can be reproduced? If the issue can be reproduced, I suggest you use Archive Sink tool to capture the meeting request message on the server. Please use Outlook and OWA to send two meeting requests to same external recipients and compare the two meeting requests. I too am having the same issue as luke and was wondering if this was ever resolved? If i send a meeting request to different external recipients, certain peoples calendars show the meeting as an hour earlier, and others are fine. Is there an answer to this. Judd

Hello, Might the problem be at the recipient's end. Maybe the recipient has not applied the latest updates or has the latest DST patches. MiguelMiguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase Sharepoint Site
