Mass Emailing Outlook 2003
Hi Everyone I have a problem. I use ACT 2008 for my contact management. I have created look ups from ACT for say 200 email addresses and then ACT allows me to send them via Outlook. The problem I am having is that Outlook only sends about 10 before I get a message "451 To many recipients". In my sent folder, in Outlook nearly all the emails now have a message "emails have not been sent" on them. When I try to re-send them from Outlook, it tells me I don't have permission. It is driving me mad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Neil45156

Hi, If you are using Exchange Server 2003,then please check Limit number of recipients per message to and Recipient Limits Maximum recipient limit is too low http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996677.aspx If you are using Exchange Server 2007,then please check Maximum recipients How to Restrict the Number of Recipients per Message http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310760.aspx Besides, there is a limitation of distribution lists that are created and stored in a Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox store or in a personal folders (.pst) file. For best results, the typical number of contacts that you should add to a distribution list is between 50 contacts and 70 contacts. So try to create multiple distribution lists. Each distribution list should have no more than the maximum number of contacts. Detail information to share with you: You receive a "This distribution list has reached the maximum size for your network e-mail server" error message when you try to add many items to a contact distribution list in Outlook http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238569 Hope it helps.
