Manaully updating Global Address List in Exchange 2007
I have migrated mailboxes and everything from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007. When i create new contact in EMC or AD than its not automatically update in GAL. Every time i have to manually update from cmdlet. I dotn want this manual process anyhow. how to fix this problem ? Challenging Problem: My all folders admin rights deleted due to viruses.i cant access any folder

Hi,I assume that you mean the offline address book.Did you move this generation to the 2007 server?http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123917.aspxTry to set the event generation for the offline address book to expert and see what events are logged when it tries to run automatically.Leif

Its already set to new server only. and when i run this below command than i got this error [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Set-Mailbox -ApplyMandatoryProperties -Identity ShowInA ddressBookUser -V VERBOSE: Set-Mailbox : Beginning processing. VERBOSE: Set-Mailbox : Administrator Active Directory session settings are: View Entire Forest: 'False', Default Scope: 'ny.us.giadsinc.com', Configuration Domain Controller: 'fsm02.ny.us.giadsinc.com', VERBOSE: Set-Mailbox : Searching objects "ShowInAddressBookUser" of type "ADUser" under the root "$null". VERBOSE: Set-Mailbox : Previous operation run on domain controller 'backupserver1.ny.us.giadsinc.com'. Set-Mailbox : The operation could not be performed because object 'ShowInAddres sBookUser' could not be found on domain controller 'backupserver1.ny.us.giadsin c.com'. At line:1 char:12 + Set-Mailbox <<<< -ApplyMandatoryProperties -Identity ShowInAddressBookUser - V where 'backupserver1.ny.us.giadsinc.com' is bdc server its not an original server name where my objects and all resides. Go to the server which should generate the OAB, and see from the event logs, from the same time when you have scheduled the OAB generation, if there are any issues from the OAB generator. Also have you tried to add -DomainController fsm02.ny.us.giadsinc.com At the end of "set-mailbox" command? -- Petri
