Managing Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2007 Console/Shell
Still on Beta and just downloading the RC now so this question is only describing my experience withE2010 beta. All E2007 Roles are onWindows 2008 SP1All E2010 Roles are onWindows 2008 SP1from an E2007 HT Server, I cannot create a new user with a mailboxon the E2010 mbx server- in EMC or from the EMS. It tells me that the mailbox is on a server running Exchange 2003 or earlier. In the EMC it picks up the Exchange 2010 mailbox database, I can select it and click OK. The wizard fails with this: Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:00 <User name>Failed Error: Database "Mailbox Database 0724632221" was not found. Please make sure you have typed it correctly. Reason: The server 'Mailbox Database 0724632221' is running Microsoft Exchange 2003 or earlier. From EMS is gives me the same thing.so I know that E2010 uses WinRM and ps v2 and I stumbled across the following article:http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/management-administration/exchange-2010-management-architecture-single-machine-manage-multiple-exchange-2010-organizations.htmlI installed WinRM and powershell v2 onthe E2007 HT Server Iused aboveand I cannot get it to connect to the E2010 ServerI want to manipulate. New-WMManSessionOption and New-PSSEssion are not recognized commands even thought I am running them from PS v2. How is this done? Documentation and recommendations/practices on managing E2010 from an E2007 Server is still pretty scarce.Any thoughts on this? Will any of this change with the RC? ( I will soon find out) or will there be a nice table in the TN library that will show what you can and cannot do between these two versions as there was in E2007 > E2007?Thanks Tony

1. This would give you better idea why you are not able to manage Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2007 EMC... Exchange Management Console Interoperability http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638174(EXCHG.140).aspx 2. About connecting Remote Powershell, Remote Management Shell things are changed from Beta to RC so suggest you to install RC first (Beta to RC in-place upgrade is not possible) and follow below guideline on connecting Remote EMS...
