Management ActiveSync service
Hi, We have Exchange 2007 and now moving mobile management from BB service to ActiveSync (more mobile devices platform, ....). I need technical documentation how to manage activesync devices based only on Exchange setup and logs, with any useful web or other console, without 3rd SW (main requirement - don't use other agent on mobile devices). On BB we had information about user (from AD) associated with BB service, device model, client version, connection status and info about latest connection to the mail server from BB. is there any way to get similar information from exchange service? Regards.

Well, similar in some respects, but you wont have that complete centralized GUI that you have with BES unless you purchase 3rd party software. Here are some starting places: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124396.aspx Managing Exchange ActiveSync http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201681.aspx Monitor Exchange ActiveSync http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998933.aspx Managing Exchange ActiveSync Devices One of the advantages of ActiveSync is that user's can self-manage some aspects: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/05/30/439568.aspx

OK, if I can't have centralized GUI - what is closest to it, how to manage activesync device with as many of listed requests? Managing Exchange ActiveSync Devices is very useful, thnx. Link for ActiveSync self-manage is also very useful.

Hi, Based on my research, there is no related GUI which contains Device Model, Client Version or other information in Exchange ActiveSync. However, you can manage the Active Sync device from OWA which is already posted by Andy. However, if you would like to view the Device Model, Device OS or other information, you can check the Exchange ActiveSync IIS logs. For more information about the log, please refer to the article below: Understanding Exchange ActiveSync Reporting Services Thanks.Novak Wu-MSFT
