Mailbox unavailable after move
I've created a second information store database in my Exchange 2003 storage group and moved some mailboxes to it. Most users have reported no problems but one user cannot access his mailbox - and I can't access it as Administrator. The rights were not the same as a comparable user - the user himself was not listed. So I have set his rights to how they should be. However I cannot connect to the mailbox even though it's clear that the mailbox is still there. It looks as though ExMerge or a restore may be the only option but this is a shame as it'd mean some downtime. Is there anything else I can try? This is a single server installation of Exchange 2003 and it's up to date with service packs etc.Tim Gowen

Exchange caches permissions. Therefore if you have only just changed the permissions then it may not work correctly. Was permission inheritance disabled? That is the usual cause. Check that has been set so that all permissions are propagated down correctly. The only way to flush the permission cache is to restart the information store service, which will kick everyone out of Outlook. Or wait approximately 2 hours. Hi, How is thing going on after performing Simon’s suggestion. Is there any error information in Event Log? If so, please post it here for research. Thanks.
