Mailbox size error despite no limits imposed
Hi All
I have a new SBS2008 server - about 2 weeks old. Users were created from scratch and their email data was manually exported from the old sbs2003 server and imported into the SBS2008 server.
The client PC are running Windows 7 Pro and Outlook 2011.
I have one user (the boss - isn't it always the boss?) who is getting a warning in Outlook that he has exceed his 2GB mailbox size limit. This is despite the fact that I have removed all limits for this user and they are not using the default limits.
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I removed it a week or more ago and the server and PC have both been rebooted since then.
Thanks

So what is set in his mailbox limits tab? I'm assuming you have the use defaults not checked and in the limit values blank which means unlimited? If not unlimited you're putting the correct limits in KB?James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi David:
I will explain it in details.
run get-mailbox “boss mailbox” | fl *quota*
According to your saying, I think you will see five parameter.
ProhibitSendQuota:unlimited
ProhibitSendReceiveQuota:unlimited
UserDatabaseQuotaDefaults: true
IssueWarningQuota : unlimited
RulesQuota:64KB
Unlimited doesn’t mean no limit. UserDatabaseQuotaDefaults: true means the mailbox quota is set by default setting.
What is default setting ?
emc->server configuration ->mailbox ->mail database->properties->limit. It is default setting for mailbox.
Default setting :
Issue warning at (KB) 1991680
Prohibit send at (KB) 2097152
Prohibit send and receive 2411520
So your boss meet warning when mailbox exceed 2GB.
1. Modify default setting of mailbox database
2. Modify boss quota emc->recipient configuration ->mailbox->boss->properties ->mailbox setting->storage quotas.
Then please restart exchange information store service
