Mailbox opening problem

Hi,

We are using exchange 2013 server and windows server 2012 as AD server.

Now , 2 of my users are using 4 physical machines and they are opening their outlook on all 4 systems. They have their own mailbox ( john@xyz.com ) plus one more mailbox configured for another domain ( john@pqr.com ), which is configured on same exchange server itself.

Now , when they are opening outlook on another system , they are getting message , outlook can not be opened..I reboot the system , and recreate their outlook profile , it opens but after a week it again give error and when I am removing the another mailbox ( john@pqr.com ) it opens successfully.

I have manually configured the mailbox in their outlook on all system in place of given permission , such as full mailbox or send as...inside the exchange...is this the reason , its giving problem randomly. Is it the correct way or giving a mailbox send as permission will be the correct way...

please help...

thank you..

I'm assuming the primary domain is xyz.com and pqr.com is the accepted domain?  The user "John" in your example is that two separate users? or is that 1 user with a primary and secondary smtp address?

Hi,

Assigning a full mailbox access permission should enable the user to get the other mailbox too in their profile as auto mapping can work in that situation. Now the connectivity issue you reported are random occurrences and mostly related to some other issues (network, antivirus scan etc.)

Hi,

Please answer the quetion as Minor76 mentioned above, and how do you add delegate permission to other mailbox?
Run below command to check the permission for mailbox:
Get-ADPermission A | Where {$_.AccessRights -Contains "Extended"} | FL User,*Access*,*Extend*

Please ensure you experience problem within below situation:
1. Two user and mailbox: A(A@contoso.com), B(B@contoso.com)
2. Four Outlook client: same outlook profile with A and B, or separate outlook profile with A and B?

Please provide more details about your mailbox and Outlook configuration, it's more helpful for further troubleshooting.

Thanks

Hi ,

Thanks for your quick reply.

The primary domain is xyz.com and pqr.com is a accepted domain.

There is a single user called john ..and he is having account in both the domains ..called john@xyz.com and john@pqr.com , now i am manually configuring his profile in outlook and 5 differant system , and there is only single profile in outlook and inside it there are 2 accounts configured...I have manually authenticate his both the account in his outlook in all 5 machines , there is no delegation configured in exchange for john@xyz.com for his accepted domain john@pqr.com.

If i am configuring delegation for his account , and manually authenticate in outlook , its not working properly , giving error while sending mails outside.

So , my question is , which is the best way to use account in 5 differant machines in outlook...give him a delegation permission and let it map in outlook automatically in 5 different machines or not giving delegation and configure those accounts manually in outlook in 5 machines...( this is present scenario and giving errors randomly. )

please help...

Thanks..

Hello,

As you are using Exchange 2013, 'Automapping' of accounts should work, if you connect the account from Outlook 2010 and above.

My suggestion is, create mailbox for each accounts (Not as secondary smtp address) john@xyz.com and john@pqr.com. Give full access to primary mailboxes on secondary mailboxes. Without any further settings, auto mapping should work and they can access mailboxes with full access permission from the primary mailbox.
