Mailbox not showing in GAL
Hello We have an Exchange 2007 environment. Everything is running fine, however last week we created a new mailbox for a user named David Jones. For some reason, this is not appearing in the GAL (clients cannot search for him even in OWA). I checked and the mailbox is not hidden from the GAL or anything like that. I checked "update address based on email policy" and this was unticked, as it is for all our users. Any ideas?

Do you have multiple domain controllers and global catalog servers? Is Exchange installed on a global catalog server? You might want to use ADSIEDIT or LDP and connect to each of the DCs and verify that they all have the Exchange properties populated. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hello, Can you see the new user via OWA? If OWA shows the user, you need to check the autodiscover and EWS service on the Outlook client: a. While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select Test Email Autoconfiguration. b. Confirm that your email address is in the address field, uncheck Use Guessmart and secure Guessmart authentication boxes. Then click the Test button. c. Once it runs, please check the Log tab and Results tab. Thanks, Simon
