Mailbox movement error
I have ex2003 sp2 running 4 nodes cluster boxes, and suddently i am not able tomove few mailbox from one server to other server. its giving below error,No changes has been made in production since last 3 months.Event Type:ErrorEvent Source:MSExchangeAdminEvent Category:Move Mailbox Event ID:1008Date:03/07/2009Time:15:48:46User:N/AComputer:NGM2K3MSC02ADescription:Unable to move mailbox 'SUA937'. Yes, i checked it no external account permission to mailbox other than self.

How about permission on mailbox? Can you try by giving explicit Full Mailbox access on the mailbox which you are trying to move. And also make sure that you have below permission for movement. Hi Prakash, I agree with Amit, it can be a permission issue, please check it according to the article. If the issue persists, please save your application log in Event viewer and then clear the application log. Then try to move the mailbox again. Thanks, Elvis

Amit, I didn't described my problem fully, actually we have DR and production sites in same exchange org. and when i moved out some users from production to DR mailbox for testing and after then when i tried to move them back then i am getting above events error.the more serious part is that after getting failed error, my mailboxes isstill pointingto old DR mailbox server andmailbox is now not visible in any of the server store. Is it any replication issue between DR and production domain controllers. we have separte DC's in DR and production..... we have native exchange org. and i am not able to find outhow to check permission from your given article. Any other thoughts on this please

Not sure what procedure you have and followed to test DR but usually mailbox can be identified/located with below three attributes... msExchHomeServerName homeMTA homeMDB Use ADSIEdit.msc on both domain controllers (production & DR and make sure adsiedit.msc connected to local DC) one by one and verify that these are pointing to correct DR server as they should be. Verify that AD replication is not set to be delayed because it is normally delayed for DR site in some of the environment to make sure that DR environment is safe for sometime after unwanted issues in production and it doesn't get replicated immediately... i think its replication issue, the reason is if i view the users properties in DR mailbox server then inexchange general tab mailbox is pointing to production mailbox server. However if i view the user properties in production mailbox then still its pointing to DR mailbox.Hence i think due to this i am not able to move mailboxes between production and DR..Ichecked users porperties in ADSIedit---domain--dc=domain,dc=domain,dc=com,ou=all user, cn=user and then properties and here HOMeMTA and HOMeMDB is pointing to production servers.
