If it is a single mailbox then I would simply export the mailbox to a PST file using exmerge, copy out the X.400 address so you can recreate it See this article (which is for SBS, but applies to the full product): http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2009/05/21/cannot-reply-to-old-emails-or-modify-old-calendar-items-after-pst-mail-migration.aspx Once you have dropped the mailbox recreate it on the new server and exmerge the data back in again before removing Exchange 2003. Hi, It's seems like a permissions error. Permission is needed to export the mailbox. To resolve the issue: 1. You should logged as a domain administrator 2. Run the following command from exchange power shell:Add-MailboxPermission -Identity usermailbox -User administrator -AccessRights FullAccess 3. Export from the same power shell with:Export-Mailbox -Identity usermailbox -PSTFolderPath C:\usermailbox.pstRegards from www.windowsadmin.info

Ok call me brainless but how do I move the mailbox if it won't let me .. In other words he is running on the 2003 box now. Do I make the pst .. delete everything in his mailbox... move the mailbox ... then reinsert ?? Also can I import back in with an EXMERGE PST in 2007?

If you use emxerge it will remove all the content. Then recreate the mailbox. You can exmerge back in with Exchange 2007 - it is NOT dependant on version of Exchange that the mailbox is located on. You do have to use a system with Exchange 2003 ESM installed on it. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

Hi, This error can occur by corrupted mailbox or incorrect permission on the problematic Mailbox. First, it’s highly recommended to perform ManU’s suggestion to modify the permission on the problematic Mailbox and export it again. If the error message persists, please also try the following steps. 1. Repair the database via ISINTEG tool. This requires that the database be offline. The Syntax "Isinteg -s Server_Name -fix -test alltests". You have to run it again and again till you get 0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 fixes. For more information about the tool, please refer to the link below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/182081 If you would not like to run the tool again, please perform the step 2. 2. Export the contents of the affected mailbox to PST using Outlook client. Delete the source mailbox, and create mailbox afresh for the affected user(s) on Exchange Server 2007, and attach their PST to the outlook profile. Thanks, NovakNovak Wu-MSFT
