Hi,

when migrating mailbox between 2 exchange 2013 servers,it s horribly slow. I have found some articles which describing problems about content indexing and missing AD group. This is not my problem, I have tried solutions but it didn't work. Both exchange are next to each one, same VLAN, same switch. Just migrating between databases.

When I start batch jobs it is migrating only 1 mailbox at once and speed is really slow (2000 - 3000 mail items per 5 minutes). So mailboxes which have 10GB it's migrating 3 hours. My server is on 1gbps LAN.

I have also checked MsExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config on both servers:

    MaxActiveMovesPerSourceMDB="20"
    MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB="20"
    MaxActiveMovesPerSourceServer="100"
    MaxActiveMovesPerTargetServer="100"
    MaxTotalRequestsPerMRS="100"

Do you have any idea where to look why only 1 mailbox is migrating at once?

For the reason why only 1 mailbox is migrating at once when you start batch jobs, there is no official articles or blog to explain it.

I recommend you check if the speed is slower when you move a smaller mailbox. If the issue doesn't occur, I recommend you set the AllowLargeItems parameter.

spped is still same, doesn't matter how big mailbox is. also I do not have LargeItems, just big mailboxes. some users had for example 10GB of emails after thei 5 - 10 yeard history in company.

  Heh, marked as answer? I like that as this article is about Office 365 migrations and recommended remediations include things like network latency and misconfigured load balancers. Really?

  I too am doing a small migration and have noticed that the performance on Exch 2013 SUCKS. Are MS and the MVP and/or blog team really suggesting that the thousands of hits regarding terrible performance are all attributable to each specific environment on a case by case basis? No common denominator in the 2013 code?

  Here's a sample from my completed stats on a single Exchange 2007 SP3 VM moving to an Exch 2013 SP1 CU 9 VM in the same environment. A/V has been disabled on both boxes and their respective disks are on two different datastores/SAN sets.

 Lovely, eh? I too have seen the articles recommending creating the ContentSubmiters group, looking for index errors, or changing the replication config text file. All a total dead end.

  I'd love to see some independent stats where someone migrated in a controlled environment from 2003 to 2010 or 2007 to 2010 and then did the same test to 2013.
