Hi Rajiv,I assume that you want to manage messages inside mailboxes. Well for that you can create Managed/Customfolders and can configure Messaging Record Management.MRM keeps messages that are needed to comply with company
policy, government regulations, or legal needs, and to remove content that has
no legal or business value.Various tasks to configure MRM to manage messages/emails of mailboxes.- Create Managed Folders- Create Managed Content Settings- Create Managed Folder Mailbox Policies- Apply Managed Folder Mailbox Policies on Mailboxes- Schedule Managed Folder Assistant on Mailbox DatabaseReferences:http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/compliance-policies-archiving/exchange-2007-messaging-records-management-part1.htmlhttp://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/compliance-policies-archiving/exchange-2007-messaging-records-management-part2.htmlBTW, Rajiv I think you are learning about Exchange 2007. Hi Rajiv,Well particular to health of database, if database is mounted then it should be healthy, if it is not healthy then it wouldn't mount. However you can either put automatic and advance checkup of your Exchange environment with SCOM + Exchange Management pack or you may need to check certain things manually.http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/monitoring-operations/monitoring-exchange-2007-system-center-operations-manager-2007-part1.htmlhttp://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/monitoring-operations/monitoring-exchange-2007-system-center-operations-manager-2007-part2.htmlCheck below article to get the standard list of tasks to perform daily, weekly, monthly and as needed (this include all server roles) for manual checkup.Operations Checklistshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232187.aspxAdditionally there are list of Performance Manager counter to monitor health of Exchange Server roles without SCOM.Check below article to get the list of counters for various server roles and their threshold values.Monitoring Without System Center Operations Managerhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201720.aspx Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

You can check the Exchange Best Practives Analyzer on a regular basis and yes, SCOM + Exchange Management Pack is the best way to proactively monitor and report on Exchange Server health.
