Mailbox Quota Exceeded in Exchange 2003. How can I fix it? Hi, I need some help here, please. I have a user who can’t receive emails because, according to Exchange 2003, she has exceeded her mailbox quota. She can receive emails from other users within our organization, but if an external user send her an email he receive an email back saying: Your email was not delivered to the following recipient. Mailbox quota exceeded. I deleted a lot of junk mail but the problem persists. What can I do? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like this user has a quota specific to them. So open up AD Users and Computers, open the user's properties. Go to the Exchange General tab. Click the Storage Limits button. Anything configured for the user? If not, look at the database defaults. Open up ESM, right-click on the database and select properties. Go to the Limits tab. Hope this helps.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

Would you please let us know the current size of the user's mailbox and the size limit for this user in exchange server? Please empty the Deleted Items folder and create a new outlook profile to test it. I recommend you to export the mails in exchange server to local PST and try it again. After the mailbox could receive new emails again you could import the mails back to server. Exchange 2003 mailbox size limits are not enforced in a reasonable period of time and need two hours to take effect: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327378/en-us Thanks.Your expertise never fails to impress!
